JKA of San Francisco Bay
REOPENING ANNOUNCEMENT
On January 6, 2025, the JKA of SF Bay will resume classes in a new dojo close to downtown Berkeley. Click "Train With Us" for class times and location. Who Are We? In our dojo, we practice traditional Japanese Shotokan Karate-Do, as a part of the Japan Karate Association, the oldest formal school of karate, recognized by Japan's Ministry of Education. We're open to beginners and experienced students alike, ages 12 and older. We practice karate as a traditional martial art in the spirit of Japanese budo. Demanding, vigorous, but non-contact, karate-do is a path for life. The JKA of SF Bay is a member of Shotokan Karate-Do International, a branch of the international JKA under Takashi Shu Sensei in Brooklyn. The instructor is T.J. Stiles, 5th Dan, who trained for twenty years in the dojo of the late Mori Sensei, 9th Dan. He is licensed as an instructor, tournament judge, and rank examiner by JKA headquarters in Japan. |
